Sean's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sean Hileman, who left us on May 11, 2025. Born on the 27th of April, 1972, he was a beloved brother, esteemed educator, passionate volunteer, and a true admirer of life.
Sean is survived by his wife Melissa Lucas, his siblings, Raymond, Stephen and Katie Hileman and Elizabeth Wood, whom he cherished deeply. His warm, carefree personality, paired with his witty sense of humor, brought a unique joy to everyone around him. Sean was a man who truly believed in living in the moment, valuing and nurturing relationships, which was clearly evident in the strong bonds he had with his family and friends.
After graduating from California State University, Chico with a Bachelors Degree in Education, he went on to accomplish his Masters Degree and certification in Teaching. Sean continued to show his dedication towards nurturing the young minds, which was one of his greatest achievements. He was an avid animal enthusiast and has been active in high school athletics, influencing many young lives positively.
Sean's accomplishments include contributions with multiple wrestling programs, including Gonzales High School and Desert High School, and working with the Gonzales Unified School District, to improve campuses and student programs, are not just testaments to his professional prowess, but also his relentless dedication to creating a better world for others.
Apart from his professional and social commitments, Sean was an enthusiastic fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and had an affinity for board games, including Backgammon, Cribbage, Poker, Chess. His keen interest in high school athletics kept him volunteering for any and all assistance that was needed. He also enjoyed swimming and camping, carrying his love for nature into his recreational activities.
The legacy left behind by Sean is one of kindness and generosity. He was a man who made significant contributions to the world around him, through his professional and social commitments, and by simply being a loving brother, a dedicated volunteer, and a passionate sports enthusiast. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
