This will be a very short graveside burial ceremony. We held a Catholic Memorial Mass for him already in our home town of Gig Harbor, WA on 22 March 2024.
Through my benefit as a Navy retiree, we can both be buried in a military cemetery. Sean was originally from Northern Virginia and I am originally from Maryland- both of us in the Washington, DC area. He was born in Arlington, and we met in Arlington while I was in medical school in Washington, DC. Through 24 of the 26 years of our married life, we were an active duty military family. It seems only fitting that we end together where we began, and that we will be surrounded by our military brethren. -

A few special items that may require explanation:
1. We will have a toast to Sean with your choice of whiskey or chocolate milk (for those under age 21 year and those who prefer a non-alcoholic beverage). Sean was a connoisseur of fine spirits and greatly enjoyed a glass (or two!) amongst friends. In the non-alcoholic realm, the indulgence of chocolate milk was always a favorite. It was the last drink he had.
2. Although there will be savory options amongst the appetizers, a sweet treat offering will be a simple vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing. While with each birthday Sean was offered to pick from any dessert he wished, his desire was always yellow cake from a cake-mix box with store bought vanilla icing. Please enjoy this sweet in his memory. -
