Scotty's obituary

Scotty Jernigan, 79, passed away August 5, 2023. Born February 10, 1944. Veteran of United States Marine Corps. His passions included his trucking company Jernigan Enterprises of Birmingham and his farm in Jones. He was well known for his trucking skills, story telling, and jokes. He is survived by his children: Sam Jernigan, Natalie Jernigan, Stacey Jernigan, and Alene Hochstetter; his grandchildren: Ty Jernigan, Maddox Brownlow, Dallas Jernigan, Abby Hochstetter, Adam Hochstetter; his brother: Thomas Jernigan; as well as many other relatives. His life will be celebrated at the VFW at 1801 11th Ave. N. Bham on September 1, 2023 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Casual attire. Followed by a memorial at National Cemetery at 3133 Hwy. 119 Montevallo 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one or more of the following: VFW 1801 11th Ave. N. Birmingham, AL write “relief fund” in honor of Scotty Jernigan on memo line; Disabled American Veterans; Little Britches Rodeo 5050 Edison Ave. #105 Colorado Springs, CO 80915 write “in honor of Scotty Jernigan” on memo line. His final resting place will be with family in Batesville, AK on September 2, 2023.
