Scott's obituary
Scott Ryan Woody
October 14, 1971 - October 14, 2022
On his 51st birthday, Scott Ryan Woody, after a valiant year-long battle with cancer, left this world for a new home with God, where there is no cancer and no pain. He has flown away on Angels’ wings.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Watson and Louise Howell; his aunt Pamela Howell, his uncles Melvin and William Woody, and his cousin Ashley Owens.
He leaves behind:
- His dear wife, Madison (Sophorn) Woody, who took such loving care of him.
- His beloved children, Mackenzie and Jon Spatafore, Alexandra Woody and Keegan Jacko, Bailey Woody and Josh Hill, and Clayton and Maddie Wierda.
- Scott fought so hard to welcome his first grandchildren, Vinnie Gianni Spatafore, born September 23, and Harley Paige Woody, born two days later on September 30. He made it!
- His parents, Mary Anne and Don Woody; brother Mark and his wife Tracy Woody, his favorite niece Brooklyn Woody; and nephew Logan Woody, who stayed close by his uncle Scott’s side for the past year, helping him in every way he could.
- His uncle Andy Howell, who also stayed by Scott’s side, helping with Scott’s care and in so many other ways.
- Madison’s kind family, his mother-in-law Momsomara Nou; his sisters and brothers-in-law Sophea Som and Vannchenda Sok; and Bophapisey Som and Dennis Shoemaker. Thank you especially Sophea and Ray for taking us to the Cleveland Clinic.
- His close friend, Craig Curtis, who also helped and stayed by his side. Craig took Scott on his last hunting trip.
- Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Thank you all for your visits, support and prayers. Scott appreciated all of you.
We will miss him so.
(At Scott’s request, cremation will take place and there will be no funeral. Instead, he asked for a Celebration of Life gathering, at a later date. We will let you know when it will be, and we hope you all can come!) Please share this post.
