Scott's obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Scott “Scottie” Michael Taylor, Jr. God wrapped his loving arms around Scottie and called him home on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the age of 30.

Scottie, known for his vibrant presence and infectious sense of humor, was the life of every gathering. He had a unique ability to brighten any room, sending people into fits of laughter and smiles that make your cheeks hurt. He loved his family, but he took a special pride in his role of being an uncle. He poured his heart into nurturing his relationships with his nieces, Callie and Sophia, and his nephew, Ezra. Scottie also shared an incredibly close bond with his beloved dog, Chunk, who he absolutely loved more than anything.

Scottie graduated from the North County High School in 2011. He was an accomplished lacrosse player, excelled as a goalie, showcasing his skill and finesse on the field. His diverse passions included a love for music of all genres, a fondness for spicy hot sauces, a fascination with koi fish, and a deep enjoyment of video games and building gundams. He recently took up gardening, growing elephant ears and other assortments with his newfound green thumb.

Scottie is survived by Loving Mother and Step-Father, Kathryn "Kitty” Oliver (nee Gardiner) and Willis Oliver; Devoted Siblings, Ashlynn Taylor-Andrews (Brandon) and Shane Taylor; Best Friend and Brother, Jimmy Plotts; Step-Brother Bryan Garner; Cherished Nieces and Nephew, Callie Andrews, Sophia Andrews, and Ezra Taylor; Treasured Grandparents, Wayne and Joan Taylor, and Step-Grandmother Leona Shobe-Gardiner; Loving Aunts and Uncles, Tracy Taylor, Sonya and Jason Miller, Sunday Gardiner, John and Janice Gardiner; Cousins Kristie (Kevin) Grinder and children Alyssa, Joey, Aubrey and Alexis Grinder, Mandy (Rob) Neidrauer, Sydney Gardiner, John Gardiner, Caroline Teague, Emily Teague; and numerous family and friends.

Scottie is predeceased by his father, Scott Michael Taylor, Sr.; Grandparents Grace and John Gardiner; and Uncle Paul Gardiner.
