I met Scott back in 1985 at Market’s International in Tri-County. He was working at Danny’s Pizza in the food court and I had just taken a job at Culinary Emporium. I had no idea that my time with the different shops at MI were going to prepare me for my future career, and Scott and I had no idea that our lives were going to travel together for so many years. We roasted our own coffee at Culinary Emporium, originally using one of the first hot air roasters called a Sivetz. It only did a few pounds at a time, and we eventually needed a larger Probat roaster. And along with that, we needed a person to become our coffee roaster, and I convinced Scott to come to work for us. He was always a great person to be around and a dedicated employee. When Culinary Emporium ended, Scott came with us to Queen City Coffee and continued to be our roaster and jack of all trades. He would always go above and beyond and was always willing to help everyone. But even back then, I had no idea that our lives would continue to be connected in many ways for many years. I was so fortunate to have shared so many years with him. And stories too many to tell.
