Scott's obituary

Scott Holmes Davis, recently known as Merci Dawn Davis, age 50, passed away on January 31, 2026, in Hamilton, Ohio. He was born on August 30, 1975, in Bloomington, Indiana.

Scott was the beloved child of Tom and Holly Davis. He attended Owen Valley High School and later earned his GED. In his later years, he embraced life as Merci Dawn Davis, living authentically and bringing joy to himself and those around him. Though his journey had its challenges, he found moments of joy, self-expression, and connection with those around him. As a young adult, he loved fishing, camping, and the outdoors. A devoted Indianapolis Colts fan and hard rock enthusiast, he also loved to joke around and tease family and friends, keeping everyone smiling and laughing.

He is survived by his parents, Tom and Holly Davis; his siblings, Erin Myers and her husband Aaron Myers, and Kevin Davis and his wife Megan Davis; his children, Dustin Sink, Sabra Reffett and her husband Todd Reffett, Korey Davis, Hailey Caudle, Adie Hussong, and Quintin Davis-Hussong; his grandchildren, Flora Reffett, Abigail Reffett, Grayson Reffett, and Ellie Reffett; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Maxine Skirvin, and his paternal grandparents, Freddie Davis and Beverly Robertson.

He will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He will be remembered with love and the joy he brought into the lives of his family and friends.
