My condolences to Kelly & kids- Scott was the fun, cool cousin on my dad's side of the family. We met when they were being sent to a new AF post - his mom and my dad were siblings and after a complicated childhood(adoption and orphanages) they reconnected - altho we were far apart due to his dad's career when we were together it was always a fun time! We had shared lives on Facebook and always INTENDED to get together - after a 2 1/2 year stint out east on my part we had planned to get together after they got back from Toms celebration of life - if I have learned anything - don't put things off!! Scott ~ I will forever remember just how kind you were. I honestly never heard him say a bad word about anyone! My boys were fortunate enough to have him as a mentor, coach & friend. He was a positive presence wherever he was. I’ll always cherish cabin memories with all the kids, more baseball than I ever thought I’d sit through & our inventory reduction parties! You were one of a kind my friend, watch over Kelly, Clayton & Mari. Rest in peace Scott, we’ll miss you.

There was never a time that I didn’t have the most fun when I was with Scott! From the very beginning when Kelly and I met him at a college party, to the last time I was able to be in his presence. This August he was our “ScUber” driver when I celebrated my 55th birthday with Kelly and other girlfriends at Pelican Lake. He was so happy to scoop all of us ladies up in his truck and take us to Breezy. He treated us so well. We were all pretty jazzed up and feeling silly and he was playing music that we liked and we joked about the 5 star reviews that we were going to give him as our “ScUber” driver. I teased that Kelly would make sure to tip him later. 😉. I could see him just grinning from ear to ear in the rear view mirror.
He was the kind of husband to my best friend that any friend would be so happy to have. His home and his time was always open to me and given freely. He was my friend too and over the years I became even fonder of him as I could see how well he took care of my best friend and Mari and Clayton.
