Saul's obituary
Saul Diaz entered heaven surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a life filled with passion, dedication, and deep connections to the people and things he cherished most.
He is survived by his loving wife Cecy, daughter Diana, son‑in‑law Joseph, his pride and joys, grandsons Brandon and Luke, and Mother Diana.
Sal was a devoted husband, a caring father, a loving son, a cherished brother and uncle, and a treasured grandfather whose presence will be profoundly missed. He was a true provider—steadfast, hardworking, and committed to giving his family the very best. He spent many years serving the City of Los Angeles, first as a Gardener Caretaker with Parks and Recreation and later as a Tree Surgeon with the LADWP, careers that reflected both his work ethic and his deep respect for God’s creation. After retiring, he devoted his time to caring for his own garden, where he found peace tending to plants, especially his cherished succulents and cacti.
He had a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and nostalgia of the past and a passion for vintage cars, antiques, and rare, one‑of‑a‑kind collectibles. Whether restoring, collecting, or simply admiring them, Sal found joy in the stories each treasure carried. He also loved being outdoors, embracing nature whenever he could.
Sal will be remembered for his strength, his God-fearing spirit, and the love he gave so freely to his family. Though his absence is deeply felt, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace in the presence of the Lord, and that one day we will be reunited with him again.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” — John 14:1–3
Family and friends are welcome to join in honoring his life and celebrating his memory. All who knew and loved Sal are warmly invited to come together in remembrance and fellowship.
In the midst of his battle, his words to his family was "Give all the Glory to God" - Amen!
