In Loving Memory of Jennifer D. Abbott (1955–2025)
also known as Sarah Steinberg
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennifer Abbott, who died tragically at her home in Camden, London, on June 13, 2025, just a few weeks before her 70th birthday.
Sarah was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and dear friend to many. She is survived by her one and only son and daughter-in-law, her two cherished grandchildren, and her loyal corgi, Prince, who was always by her side. She is also remembered with love by extended family and friends around the world.
Being both American and British, Jennifer enjoyed many wonderful years living in the United States—in Scottsdale, Arizona; Beverly Hills, California; Florida; New York; Hawaii; Ouray, and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She was, in every sense, a true American woman in spirit—the kind Oscar Wilde once described with admiration: bold, imaginative, and independent.
Jennifer was a creative force, accomplished as a filmmaker, director, and author of several books. , She brought powerful, thoughtful stories to life with clarity and conviction. Her work reflected her intellect, compassion, and deep curiosity about the world.
Her immediate family treasures the many joyful and intimate memories they shared exclusively with Jennifer—precious moments and adventures that will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Together, they explored the vibrant city of Vancouver, Canada, marveling at its stunning blend of natural beauty and urban charm—a backdrop for laughter, discovery, and connection. They experienced the diverse landscapes and rich cultural tapestry of the United States, from the energetic streets of New York, to the serene beaches of California, and the majestic grandeur of the Rocky Mountains—each place deepening their bond and creating lasting memories and soon were looking forward to enjoying Dubai together.
Sarah travelled the world and enjoyed the finer things in life, including wonderful culinary experiences that enriched her journeys and brought joy to her family and friends.
She also held a deep love for the warmth and vibrant colors of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where she reveled in the beautiful Caribbean beaches, lively local culture, and the soothing embrace of the sea. She enjoyed visiting Hawaii many times with friends and family, delighting in its natural beauty and spirit, but her son and daughter treasure most of all the times they went there together.
She delighted in wandering the historic streets of London and the breathtaking landscapes of Spain. Among her favorite experiences was visiting Ronda, home to one of Spain’s oldest and most iconic bullrings, where she embraced the rich history and timeless beauty of the region. She found joy in visiting Gibraltar, fascinated by the only wild monkeys in Europe, treasuring every shared moment with her immediate family during these special adventures.
To those who knew her, Sarah will be remembered as kind, generous, and strong. She had a deep love for her family and found joy in being a grandmother. Her one and only son was always there for her—no matter where his work took him, whether Dubai, the Middle East, Singapore, Europe, North America, or elsewhere around the world, he never hesitated to travel to her side whenever she needed health or support. She was always proud of her sacrifices and of pushing her son to the highest echelon of education, and he will always be grateful for her commitment. She often told him he was the greatest achievement of her life and sacrificed so much for him in ways she herself never experienced.
Though her passing was sudden and heartbreaking, her life was rich with creativity, courage, and love. She will always be remembered close to their hearts by all who knew and loved her.
