Sarah's obituary

Sarah E. Prine Black, known affectionately as Sarah to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, in Madison, WI, at the age of 61. Born on December 12, 1963, Sarah brought light and joy into the world with her kind spirit and creative soul.

Sarah was the cherished daughter of Nancy Prine and the late Eugene Prine. Her warmth and compassion were a testament to the loving upbringing provided by her mother and her late father. She shared a special bond with her 'mumsy', Gail McCallum-Prine, whose nurturing presence was a cornerstone of support in Sarah's life.

A devoted wife, Sarah's love story with her husband, Dennis Black, was one of mutual respect and deep adoration. Together, they built a life full of laughter, support, and unwavering companionship.  Sarah's son, Wes Andrew, was the pride and joy of Sarah's life. She instilled in him the values of kindness, creativity, and the importance of family.

Sarah was a beloved sibling to her brothers, Dan, Matt, and Andrew Prine. She held dear the memory of her late brother, Jeff, and her sister, Jenny, whose spirits continued to inspire her every day. Her brothers will remember her as a guiding light, a confidante, and a source of endless encouragement.

A woman of faith, Sarah's Christian beliefs shaped her approach to life, imbuing her with a sense of purpose and an unwavering optimism that she shared generously with those around her. Her faith was her compass, guiding her through life's challenges with grace and resilience.

Photography was not just a hobby for Sarah; it was a passion that allowed her to capture the beauty of the world and the essence of the moments she cherished. Her artistic eye and skillful touch preserved memories that will continue to bring comfort and joy to her loved ones. Additionally, Sarah had a keen interest in jewelry, with a collection that reflected not only her impeccable taste but also the stories and memories associated with each unique piece.

Sarah's legacy is one of love, creativity, and strength. Her ability to see beauty in the everyday and her talent for capturing and sharing that beauty left an indelible mark on the world. She approached every day with a sense of wonder and an open heart, traits that endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

As Sarah's family and friends mourn her passing, they also celebrate a life well-lived—a life full of purpose, joy, and an abundance of love. Sarah's memory will continue to be a beacon of light for all who were touched by her presence. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and in the beautiful works she created.

Sarah E. Prine Black's life was a vivid tapestry woven with love, faith, and artistry. Her journey on this earth may have come to a close, but the impact of her kindness and her creative contributions will endure forever.

Sarah's Celebration of Life Services will be held on November 1,2025 from 11:00am-2:00pm, a lunch will be served following the service.
