Sarah K. Melvin, 72, resident of Tyler, Texas peacefully passed away on the morning of March 4, 2026, following a courageous 14-year battle with breast cancer.

Sarah lived a rich, full life as a registered nurse, a military wife, homemaker and homeschooling mom to 3 girls. She was born on July 27, 1953 to Claude and Francelle Ledford. Her family roots are in Hot Springs, Arkansas and she attended the University of Arkansas, earning a nursing degree.

Sarah loved the Lord; she loved hosting parties and gatherings. She was accomplished in many artistic ways including cake decorating, needlework, art and crafts.  She found joy sharing these skills with others.

Sarah was survived by her husband, Tim; three daughters, Adriel, Kathleen and Lianna; two brothers, Ron Ledford and Rob Ledford; one sister, Jody Moon; and nine grandchildren.

According to her wishes, Sarah was honored in a private ceremony with her immediate family.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
