Sarah Hobbs  was born on March 17, 1933 in Bowling Green, Missouri  to  union of Robert and Rena Smith. 

Sarah moved to Cedar Rapids in the early years of her life, where she received you Associate degree from Kirkwood Community Collage. She lived there until 1983 and  then moved to Chicago IL where she retired from Marshall Fields Department Store in 1996. 

On Sunday August 27,2023 God sent His angel to claim His own. 

Our mother, Sarah, was a wonderful and loving mother and one of the strongest and bravest women to ever walk this earth who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.  We were truly blessed to have her as the head of our family

She is survived by 5 sons, Gary Hobbs of Nebraska,  Steve of Aurora, Colorado,  Darrell (Angie) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Randy Hobbs (Susan) of St Louis Park, Minnesota  and Kirk Hobbs (Lisa) of Minnesota. Two daughters Cheryl Hobbs-Poole (Thomas) of Texas and Crystal Hobbs- Houston ( Melvin) Killeen, Texas.  2 brothers Leon Smith of Cedar Rapids and Bruce Smith of California. 

Sarah not only leaves her children to cherish her memory but 25 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.  Also nieces, nephews and other relatives , and friends.
