It is with great sadness that we announce that on May 20, 2025, our beloved and cherished mother and grandmother, Sarah Cerda has transitioned, surrounded by her loved ones. Sarah was born on Sunday January 28, 1934, in Loredo, Texas. She is proceeded in death by her mother Romona Castillon, her brother Fransico, her daughter Virginia, her great grandson Maximo O. Cerda and at last reunited with her loving husband, Jose Sandoval Cerda. Sarah was a loving mother to Xavier, Araceli, Maximo and Sarah. She was a loving grandma to Sonya, Krishana, Angela, Maximo, Tera, Tommy, Jose, Virginia, Joshua, Gabby and Elizabeth. She was blessed with 22 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren 2 of which will be here at the end of 2025, a fur mother to 2 loving dogs Leo and Lola and an aunt to many! Sarah was a strong independent woman who worked as a Nurse Assistant and caregiver for many years throughout Chicago. Sarah was a traveler at heart; she’s seen many sunrises and walked many mountains. She was a dedicated bingo player and loved her lottery. She had a bright green thumb, and we can only hope the plants she once touched are still thriving with love today. Sarah will be greatly missed. Services will be private and held by family.
