Sarah Berlin was born on June 2, 1954 in Lynchburg, VA and adopted by Frances David and June Berlin.  She grew up in Kissimmee, FL and graduated from Osceola High School in 1972.  She attended Manchester College studying nursing then moved to Alabama in 2007.   

Sarah was strong willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and was generous and brave.

Following several years of illness she suddenly passed away on June 4, 2025 at her residence in Birmingham, AL two days after her  71st birthday.  Her loss was completely unexpected, and her family is profoundly saddened.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Charlie and Wendy Berlin (Kissimmee), brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gary and Debbie Speir (North Carolina). Sarah also leaves behind loved nephews and nieces Brian and Megan Speir (Washington), Brad and Teresa Speir and Great nephew Peyton Speir (North Carolina) 

Sarah was predeceased by her beloved mother, June Speir, and her caring stepfather, Clifford Speir, whom we trust have welcomed her with open arms on the other side. Sarah's father, Frances David Berlin, passed when she was 4 years old.      

Sarah had a special affection for Orchids. She was an avid Orchid grower and greatly enjoyed tending to the beautiful flowers blooming brightly on her windowsill.  

Each loss we experience reminds us of the transience of life and inspires us to create lasting, beautiful memories with our loved ones. Each family member and friend holds onto precious memories of Sarah, which will ensure that she lives on in their hearts.

A gathering to honor and celebrate Sarah will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Kissimmee, Florida at 3:00 pm on Friday August 1st. All friends are invited to join the family in this final goodbye.
