Sally's obituary
Sara passed in her sleep with family by her side at Avow Hospice 2 years ago today, on Feb 4, 2019.
Sara," Sally" was the youngest of three daughters, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother. Se was married: twice to the same man, Dexter Lishon, and is with him in heaven.
Sally was a wise woman in a "few words kind of way", with a keen sense of humor. She was a southern belle who married a yankee and settled outside of Philadelphia to raise their family. Sally had an uncanny sense of style, a dry wit often revealed in few words but with her characteristic southern accent.
Sally, "Mom", Nanie had a silent humble way of showing she cared. Her guests were always greeted with freshly cut flowers.
She had a great sense of style and could pull together a room and a home with flair and pizzazz.
A quick learner, Sally became an avid golfer for over 50 years. She was an excellent score keeper. She wasn't quick to give "gimmies" but humorous whilst denying them.
Sally was a great dancer blessed with natural grace and good rhythm. This grace and timing carried through in everything she did.
She was not afraid to try new things, even joining the church choir in 2017. She was pretty wired and had a "smartphone" which she knew when to use and when to put down.
Sally loved to travel. she crossed the Atlantic on the QE11 twice, flew on the Concorde, and cruised through the Panama Canal. She especially loved Paris.
Sally always had a jigsaw puzzle going. Wooden whimsical Liberty puzzles, from Boulder, Colorado became a comforting constant later in her life. She also enjoyed books and movies. A highlight in her life was an Adele concert she enjoyed with family.
Sally always made her bed. Mom was adamant about it. Nanie showed us that the little things in life do matter and that there can be a sense of pride and accomplishment in the mundane. She was an avid and loyal dog lover. Carlos and his paw buddies miss her terribly as do all of her family.
Rest in Peace and enjoy your friends on the 19th hole!!
