Ann's obituary
Sara Ann Gillenwater-Morgan, popularly known to all as Ann, peacefully departed this life on May 26, 2025, in Enterprise, Alabama, just days after her 82nd birthday.
Born on May 19, 1943, in Enterprise, Ann was the cherished daughter of Clifford and Gertrude Gillenwater. Ann was a remarkable woman who never met a stranger—her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, and bright beautiful smile meant there was always laughter when she was around. She was also a talented interior designer, possessing a keen eye for beauty and style.
As a young, dedicated Navy wife, Ann embraced the adventure and resilience, making each home beautiful for her new family across the country. She lived in many places throughout her early married life, including Arizona, Pensacola, FL, Maine, Pennsylvania, Virginia; Jupiter and Naples, FL, before eventually returning to her hometown of Enterprise, AL during retirement. Ann's life was a beautiful testament to laughter, selflessness and an unwavering, deep love for her great big fun family. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind an enduring legacy of commitment, and love.
Ann is survived by her three loved and cherished children: Keith Randle, wife, Betty; Kim Scarborough, husband, John; Vickie Lee Steinberg, husband, Ira. She was also a loving "Gram" to her five grandchildren: Ben, Pat, Sarah, Madison, and Will, plus her two great-grands, Nathan and Georgiana! Ann is also survived by her beloved husband, Jerry Morgan, whom she met and married in her thirties.
She is also survived by her four siblings: Two sisters: Kathryn (Robert) Byrd and Lillian Jenkins. Two brothers: Sonny (Carol) Gillenwater and Neal (Carina) Gillenwater.
The void left by Ann’s passing will never be replaced, but her energetic spirit—characterized by her warmth, humor, and unwavering love—will continue to guide and comfort her family. She will be greatly and forever missed.
Ann is interred at Meadowlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Enterprise, Alabama. May she rest in eternal peace.
