Sara's obituary

Sara Ray Beeman, 43, of Austin, Texas passed away with her family by her side on August 24, 2020. She died unexpectedly after a brief battle with pancreatitis. Sara was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 4th, 1976 to Alan and Juanda Ray. She was welcomed by her loving older brother, Samuel Lawrence and followed by her sister Diana Rose. She grew up in Hahnville, Louisiana and attended Hahnville High School. She met John Lafayette Beeman in college at the Mississippi University for Women and fell in love immediately. They were married in 1995 and their love story was one for the ages.

Sara was dynamic in all of her endeavors which included working at American Cancer Society for several years. The relationships she formed there were some of her most precious. She also lived in Norfolk, Virginia and Yokosuka, Japan which reinforced her love for exploration and adventure. When she returned from Japan in 2007, she made Austin her home.

Sara loved people. She invested in people and found value within even the most desperate soul. She loved giving people nicknames and having inside jokes with the people she loved. Sara and John had several animal companions over the years and their cats Booper and Jack were the most recent pets that had the pleasure of being loved by her. Sara’s great passion was art. Drawing, painting, music, and poetry helped her make sense of the world. She leaves behind a legacy of art and writing that is inspirational and will continue to nourish our spirits for years to come.

Sara will be interred during a graveside service on Saturday August 20, 2022 at 3 pm. Interment location is St. John Cemetery located at 216 E 4th St Frederick, Maryland 21701.

Any memorial donations may be made to Hospice Austin who cared for her at the time of her passing. They may be contacted at (512) 342-4700 and are located at 4107 Spicewood Springs Road Austin, Texas 78759.
