Santos's obituary
Santos left this world peacefully, and free of pain listening to a video of himself singing to his beloved wife, Claudia Valencia for their 60th wedding anniversary in 2013. The last thing he heard was her voice and the sounds of family, talking, laughing and cheering him on in his serenade.

To honor his memory, our family requests that we not allow sorrow to weigh upon our hearts so heavily. Instead, allow his love, and his light, to fill us up fully, as we interact with our families, and people in the community. Allow memories of him to strengthen us, as we work through our grief. This is what he would want. For every person that he knew and loved, and even those little grandchildren he never got the chance to meet yet, to live a life of integrity. Honor this man, by living as he lived, reaching out to others, feeding the hungry, mentoring those who are lost, and honoring yourselves, every day, by being impeccable in your words and actions. By never giving up on any dream or any goal, for any reason. Santos Valencia had a different and special relationship with every person in his life. From his wife, to his daughters, grandchildren, to his sister, nieces and nephews, friends, and even strangers. Allow his light to shine into not only your own lives, but into those around you. In this way, his love will live forever, and if we focus on what we gained from our relationship with him, rather than what we've lost, his legacy lives forever, and we allow him to rest in peace.
