Sandra “Sandy” Johnson, 64, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at The Carpenter House in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Born on April 6, 1960, in Tampa, Florida, Sandy was the daughter of the late Sherman and Josephine Moore. She grew up in Shreveport and attended Southwood High School. In 1978, she married Dennis Palmer, with whom she had two children, Melissa and Austin. After their divorce, Sandy found love again with Keith Johnson, and together they embarked on a life of adventure as over-the-road truckers, exploring the country and sharing beautiful experiences.

Sandy had a deep love for animals and was known for caring for many. Even after she could no longer travel, she dedicated herself to looking after stray animals in her neighborhood. She was also a talented artist who enjoyed working with ceramics, creating beautiful pieces that she often gifted to her loved ones.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Josephine, and her sister, Vicki. She is survived by her loving husband, Keith Johnson of Blanchard, LA; her children, Melissa Ahmed (Salman) of Fort Worth, TX, and Austin Palmer of Fort Worth, TX; her sisters, Kathi Moore of Bellbrook, OH, and Sheri Underwood (Troy) of Blanchard, LA; her grandchildren, Natalie, Colin, Leo, and Lilly; her special aunt, Marjorie Cooper of Monroe, LA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to The Carpenter House for the compassionate care they provided to Sandy.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
