Sandra “Sandy” Lynn Tarquino

March 11, 1967 – December 28, 2024

Sandra “Sandy” Lynn Tarquino, age 57, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving daughters. Sandy was a woman of boundless energy, grace, and kindness who touched countless lives with her love, laughter, and unwavering dedication.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Sandy grew up in Bonita Springs, Florida, where she spent her childhood dancing ballet and modern styles, as well as playing softball with her father, Richard Powell, as her coach. She carried her love of movement and music throughout her life, finding joy in any chance to get up and dance to her favorite songs.

Sandy’s passions extended to the beauty of nature, especially orchids and cardinals, which she adored. Her vibrant spirit brought warmth to every room, and she made every moment feel special for the people she loved.

A dedicated professional, Sandy led a remarkable career in banking. For nearly 25 years, she was a mortgage loan officer before becoming the Director of Human Resources at Edison National Bank. Sandy cherished her colleagues deeply, and her work reflected her commitment to helping others thrive.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family. As a devoted mother to her daughters, Jordan and Chandler, Sandy shared a love that was unconditional and inspiring. She also leaves behind her husband, Pedro “Peter” Tarquino, her parents, Richard and Linda Powell, her brother Todd Powell, her niece Hannah Powell, and countless friends and loved ones. She has joined her cherished maternal grandparents, Otto and Delia Mackey, her paternal grandparents Luke and Ruby Powell, as well as her Uncle Steve and Aunt Florence Poklemba, in peace.

Sandy’s love and light live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her strength, her ability to make everyone feel special, and her infectious joy for life.

A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held on January 24, 2025, at Gulf Coast Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children’s or Susan G. Komen for the Cure, missions that Sandy held closely to her heart, in her memory.
