Sandy is survived by her sons Scott George and Joseph Neil Jr. and by her grandchildren Torcyn Elizabeth, Treylor Hughes, Teirryn Jo, Michael, and Sarah. .She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Neil, her daughter Elizabeth "Lisa" Macelheney, her brother George, and by her parents Elizabeth and Alexander Forbes
Sandy was born on June 9, 1940 in Oxburn Scotland, but raised in Edinburgh. In 1966, while attending a dance sponsored by the USO, Sandy met Sgt Joseph Neil Stabler of the US Air Force and it was Love at First Sight. They were married two weeks later. After living in Japan for 2 years and Turkey for another year, the happy couple, along with their 5 year old daughter and 4 year old son, arrived in the United States. After a brief stay in Texas the Stabler clan, which now included a new baby boy, finally settled in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sandy began working as a secretary for the ATF and later for the Las Vegas District Attorney Office.
Sandy was a generous and caring individual who loved her family, her friends, her job, and she adored angels. She collected angels in every shape or form. Whether Sandy was at work, out shopping or out on the town she was never without an angel pin on her lapel. She was also passionate about animals. Sandy and Joseph were generous contributors to several wildlife charities and no-kill animal shelters while she cared for abandoned or stray cats and dogs at home.
Sandy was quick witted and always ready with a smile. She was a joy to be around because of that and because she made you feel welcomed. She will be missed.
