Sandra's obituary

Sandra "Sandy" Shedaker, 67, of  Hallandale Beach, FL, passed away on October 30, 2023.

The most hard working woman ever to walk this earth.

Sandra was born in Georgetown, Guyana on November 6th, 1955. She immediately brought joy and love into the world. Family came first and was above all else to Sandy, a value she instilled in all those around her. After moving to America she found employment at The Hollywood Beach Tower and has worked there for 40 years. She even continued to work there after retirement. Sandy always provided for her family and had a work ethic like no other. She rarely missed a day of work and you could always count on her to be there. She took pride in her job and in the notion of if you're going to do a job, then you better do it right and be good at it.

As a mother she was someone her daughter Jessica could always depend on. She was the rock of the family and passed down that sense of responsibility and work ethic to her daughter. She had a kind and loving heart, never asking for much but always giving of herself. The lucky few people that really got to know Sandy can tell you what a sweet and caring soul she was.

As a daughter, Sandy stayed close to her mother Joan. They spoke everyday and maintained a close relationship. As a sister Sandy has been there for all of her siblings and lived with Cheryl and Michael, keeping them company and caring for them as they needed.

As a person, Sandy was a rare gem. Particular in the company she kept, she mostly kept to herself and her close family. Not too many people were fortunate enough to enter her world but those who were know what a wonderful soul she was. Her laugh was contagious and she had the most beautiful smile. She loved her mother's cooking and one of her favorite things to do was throw herself into a good suspenseful book. She always dreamed of traveling and longed for a train ride through Europe. She was very intuitive and intelligent. She loved comedy shows and anything that had to do with mystery. She loved beautiful flowers, kittens, and her favorite perfumes. Listening to her favorite songs was definitely a beloved pastime of hers.

The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

Sandra is survived by her daughters Jessica, Karen, and Diane, her mother Joan, her sister Cheryl, and her brothers Michael, Tony, Andy, and Sean. A mass will be held in her honor at St. Andrew's Catholic Chruch in Coral Springs, Fl. on Friday October 10th, 2023 at 10am. Additionally there will be a viewing the night prior on Thursday October 9th, 2023 from 4pm-8pm at Bailey Memorial in Tamarac, FL.
