Sandra's obituary

It is with great sorrow and broken hearts that my sister and I are announcing the loss of our mother "Sandy" she passed away Saturday January 25th at North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, CO. Sandy was an amazing person with great love and amazing passion for life. She was an avid fisherwoman, and outdoors woman, and enjoyed archery. She had lived her life to the fullest no adventure was too big for her. Sandy was a "Jill" of all trades she has been a truck driver, she learned how to fly a plane, and she loved to kayak, and fishing for sharks. She retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot were she worked for many years. To her there were no strangers just a friend you have not met yet. She was stubborn and ornery, beautiful and kind, tough and loyal. She passed peacefully with her daughters one on each side talking and soothing her. Sandy will be missed by her daughters, Stephanie Carnes of Westminster, CO and Christine Hightower of Greeley CO: her grandchildren, Skyler Carnes, Dezmond Steckler, Ceason Hightower, Stephen Hightower and Braidan Hightower. Her mother Marilyn Newton of Peralta, NM; Her sister Jackie Cassidy; her brothers Larry Newton, Terry Newton, and Bruce Newton; As well as many, many Nieces and nephews.
