Brett, Todd, and Eugenie, I've been thinking of you, especially on this first anniversary. It's hard to believe that it's been a year since Sandra's passing. She was an amazing woman & I'm glad I got to know her in college and thereafter. She is missed, but not forgotten. Sending you warm wishes, good thoughts, and lots of hugs.

About 7 years ago, Sandra founded an Italian cooking group on Facebook and invited me to join. It soon became a congenial group of enthusiastic cooks, posting our food pics and recipes.
We all had such fun online and in person. A while back Sandra added two of us as administrators, maybe, in part, to make sure the group would continue without her. We all miss her so much.

Sandra and I met online and found we had much in common. We became close friends, as did our spouses. We went to concerts, spent weekends at the lake, cooked and ate and drank Negronis together. Our husbands jammed together and joked about all the bands they had quit. Our friendships were easy and strong. We will miss Sandra and Ralph forever.

Rest In Peace, my girlfriend….. my Sandy. We held hands ..and danced….and laughed…. and giggled. Life stepped in the way…but the memories will always live on.

I am so sorry to learn of Sandra's passing. I knew Sandra through Facebook as she became a friend of mine through the Village Grapevine group. I had posted a painting that I did of the Back Fence on the group site and she purchased it telling me that she had very special memories of going there after school as her parents were good friends of the owners. My sincere condolences to all her family and friends.

Ralph, Brett, Todd, Eugenie:
Sunlight, joy, early morning pastries or an evening Negroni on the Stonington porch with neighbors and friends was an acquaintance with Sandra I will treasure.
And, I will treasure too,,the quiet poetic Sandra who admitted to playing an electric piano connected to ear buds ….that silent stream of musical joy played through her emails, texts and enthusiasms for books, cookbooks, travel tips and history and charms of New York and Italy and everything else ….too soon gone yet what a beacon she remains . My love to you all as you endure her sad farewell and transition to eternal life.
Janet .

My connection with Sandra goes back to childhood. I've never not known Sandra. Although Sandra and I never really hung out, except in Italy, Walden, the Coreglini get togethers, we were in the same loose circle.
My mother and Frank came from Coreglia Antelminelli. Our parents were friends. My father worked for Frank in the early days, as did I. In later years Frank worked for my father, then for my brother and me. She's my cousin's cousin. She was always there.
My heart hurts for her "Boys," Ralph, Brett, Todd, Archie, and futere D-I-L Eugenie Bostrom. She was a rock. Always there when needed.

Sandra was a family friend to my family (the Funai's & Azzaretti's) throughout my whole life. The families were so close we vacationed together (Catskills, Lake Placid, VT) and shared in family parties for weddings, baptism's, bridal showers, etc. I have so many fond memories of her and those times. When I was a kid I especially loved being around her because she was special and warm and funny and cool and so pretty! We shared a love of NY, anything Italian (she spoke the language so beautifully!) & traveling. She & I would chat on FB from time to time and recently chatted a bit about Todd getting engaged and I told her that her future daughter-in-law was so lucky to have a mother-in-law like her--I meant every word and she appreciated my sentiments. This is so tough for Ralph, Brett & Todd and my heart and thoughts are with them. I'm going to miss her but know she is surrounded in another life now by her beloved parents and aunt & uncle.

I am heartbroken.
Sandra was wonderful to me. Chatted about growing up in our beloved Village. Sharing stories and experiences, and of course politics.
Her book recommendations were awesome.
She was a tremendously kind person. Always ready to lend an ear. Even though we never actually met, I was honored to be her friend.
I will miss her.
She will be remembered. Per sempre.
My heartfelt condolences to all of you.
We have lost a bright star.
Ti manco, amica mia.

I am heartbroken and so so sorry for your tremendous loss.
Sandra was sweet, sassy, fierce and full of life and so looking forward to seeing her son get married.
She and I met through a GV FB group. It turns out I grew up in the building her grandmother and aunt lived in on Thompson St. We met in person by going to a cooking class in Eataly with Annie Gonzalez Vece and also met for dinner in GV with Lisa Cohen . We had alot of mutual friends and family.
Her beloved Correglia was near where my parents came from and she had even been to their little village. I just reread our chats from the past 10 years... My last chat with her was just last week when she saw my pictures of my biroldo in Italy. Food and family were our kindred spirit and I will never ever forget her spirit!
I will definitely be toasting her with a negroni this weekend, and missing her...
May you all find peace in knowing how loved she was and how much she loved the 3 of you....

Ralph, Brett, Todd, and Archie, I am so sad for you all and for so many of us who knew Sandra. She was a shinning star of a human being. She was smart, kind, talented, fun and just a perfect example of a human being. We will all miss her very greatly. Her memory will live on through all of us and the smiles she engenders are countless. God will bless her and all of you, as you were the shinning stars in her life. Smile boys, knowing she is resting in peace and beaming down on each of you. God bless us all.

I am heartbroken by this news. Sandra was such an intelligent, sophisticated, warm and loving woman. I treasured the time we spent together in person and on Facebook, I simply cannot believe I will never see her again. My most sincere sympathies to her husband, sons and extended family.
