Sandra's obituary
Sandra B Mauro
SOUTH BERWICK - Surrounded by her loving family Sandra B Mauro peacefully passed away Thursday November 9 at Lahey Hospital from complications following her liver transplant. Sandy was born June 12, 1959 in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She moved to York, Maine where her parents built a farm home on Route 1 where she was raised with her two sisters. Sandy participated in many different 4H programs and crafting. She attended Westbrook College where she pursued her love for fashion and creating. Sandy went on to find the love of her life in 1981. She and Frank built their family home in South Berwick where they raised the pride and passion of their life, their children. Sandy enjoyed meeting new friends who became family and hosting many neighborhood gatherings with them. She used her creating abilities to sell crafts locally until she began working for Central School. While there she thoroughly enjoyed her time with all the children but did eventually leave to explore the fashion industry with Rue 21 in Kittery, Maine. She stayed there for 15+ years before she returned back to Central School with her love for children. Sandy loved creating and could always be found making special Christmas stockings for her loved ones, baking gingerbread cookies and handing them out with homemade ornaments, quilting, and scrapbooking memories of all her vacations and adventures. Vacations with warm beaches and flip flops were her favorite, however, so were snowy days and fluffy snowmen.
Sandy is predeceased by her mother (Catherine Brown), father (Lewis Brown), grandparents, aunts, uncles and other loving friends and family.
She leaves behind her husband of 42 years Francesco (Frank) and their four-legged fluffy mop: Dusty Rose, two daughters: Jessica (husband Daniel White) and Melissa (husband Nathan Busby). Sandy will also be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren who called her Mona: Xavier, Spencer, Julia, Charlotte, Francesco, Vivian, Abraham, and Lincoln, along with two sisters: Susan (husband Craig Westman, children Caitlin and Zach) and Patricia (husband Mark Vallee, children Kara and Erica), the Sunday family, the cousins, and many friends and family.
We will be hosting a celebration of life on Monday November 20th from 3-6pm at Spring Hill. Please visit https://everloved.com/life-of… for more information. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the celebration for a bench in her honor for the playground at Central School, where Sandy enjoyed loving, playing, and educating countless children over the years.
