Sandy's obituary
Obituary for Sandra Jean McLean
Sandra Jean McLean, born September 8, 1949, in St. Charles, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at her son's home in McHenry, Illinois. She was 75 years old.
Sandy was the daughter of the late Anna Mae Anderson and Emil Harold Anderson, and sister to the late Dori Anderson. In her early years, her family relocated to Cold Spring, Minnesota, where she spent her childhood. She married Loren McLean in April 1974, and together they raised two sons, Eli and Jay. Their family journey took them to Kankakee, Illinois in 1978, McHenry in 1983, and later to Round Lake in 1994.
Sandy was a hardworking and extremely valued employee of Domino Printing North America, where she dedicated over 25 years of service. She was known for her reliability, work ethic, and independence. Qualities that also defined her personal life.
Sandy was also deeply passionate about bowling. She actively bowled in two to three leagues year-round, often traveling with friends to participate in tournaments. She appreciated the technical aspect of the sport, but it was the camaraderie and social connection that she cherished most. Bowling was a joyful and meaningful part of her life, and it brought her lasting friendships and countless good memories.
Above all, Sandy's passion was her family. She lived for her children and grandchildren, and she never missed an opportunity to support them-attending games, plays, and events with joy and pride. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, when she hosted her family with love, warmth, and tradition.
Sandy is survived by her sons Eli (Alexandra) and Jay (Nicole); her beloved grandchildren Steven (Deidra), Nicholas, Jacob, Joshua, Connor, Cayden, and Jackson; and her great-grandchildren Cameron and Evan. She will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family, her independent spirit, her kindness, and her quiet strength.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Saturday, July 12th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lakes Bowl in Round Lake, Illinois. All who knew and loved her are encouraged to attend and share memories.
