Sandra's obituary
Sandra Haley, 82, of Naples, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 12, 2026
Sandra was born on February 28th, 1943 to Robert and Juliet Spencer in Stoneham Massachusetts. In 1960, she met Lawrence Haley, and they wed in October 1961. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter and raised four children: Johnathan Mark Haley, Lisa (Charles Knapp) Henderson, Andrea (Wally) Robarge and Denise (Frank) Buisch.
Sandra never wanted to be described as a “great” woman. She would quickly correct you and say, “I’m just a person who loves her family.” But the truth is, “great” feels far too small a word for her. She was the first to show up when someone needed help. The first to open her door. The keeper of the candy bins, always inviting you to sneak a handful. She had a gift for entertaining children and a way of making every gathering feel warmer simply because she was there. She knew the answer to most problems could be solved with “vinegah” or gargling with warm water and salt. She was the heart of our family, steady, generous, and full of loud joy. In a world where “great” is overused and often empty, Sandra showed us something better.
She showed us how to love fully, give freely, and make people feel at home. If we want to honor her, we do not need bigger words.
We simply need to love the way she did.
We will miss her greatly. Sandra was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Juliet Spencer; her brother Robert Spencer; and her loving husband, Lawrence Haley. She is survived by her brother Andrew Spencer and his family; her son Johnathan Mark Haley; Lisa Henderson (Charles Knapp); Andrea Robarge (Wally); Denise Buisch (Frank); her grandchildren-Johnathan Haley, Cristina Vergne, Lorenzo Vergne, Shawna Henderson, Matthew Robarge (Desirea), Dakota Robarge (Hannah), Anthony Robarge (Alaina), Mitchel Robarge, Julia Buisch, Adalynn Buisch - as well as many cherished great grandchildren, and extended family members.
