In 1982, Sandra met her soon to be husband, Linwood Maye and they married on July 19th, 1985 in Reno, Nevada. They would be married for 33 years. On November 8th, 1995 they welcomed their only child, Breanna, into their loving hearts. Sandra dedicated her life to being a loving stay at home mother and teacher. She spent most of her days with her daughter out in field service and at the Kingdom Hall in the Manteca East Congregation.

In 2018, Sandra moved to her home in Clearlake Oaks, where she would spend the remainder of her life. Her hobbies consisted of: Traveling, fishing, playing card games, watching her favorite TV shows, listening to her favorite songs, taking care of her beloved dog “Little Man” and spending time with loved ones.

Sandra is preceded in death by her father, Paul Childress. She is survived by her siblings, Francine, Linda, Paulette, and Michael, her mother Shirley Childress and her daughter Breanna.

As we mourn the loss of a friend, a mother, a daughter and a sister; we remember all the laughs and love that we shared. For all the love that she gave to the world and those close to her, we return the favor and even more as we say our goodbyes. Rest easily in peace. Revelations 21:4-5.

A Poem by Daughter Breanna:

Beauty knows no bounds
Love has no measure
For within you all these are found
Your grace was a pleasure
And nothing can compare

The weight of your skin was heavy
From holding onto hope and prayer
Your heart was full of love to give
And still nothing can compare

To hear your laugh was pains remedy
From all you had to bear
The strength you held was far and wide
And still nothing can compare

You gave until your well dried out
But still you came prepared
“What I got, you got” she said
And still nothing can compare

The life of the party
Your presence was felt everywhere
Your hugs gave warmth and protection
And still nothing can compare

As we say goodbye and goodnight my love
Just know that we are here
To send you to a place of peace
Where fear cannot appear

And as we ask ourselves
If we’ve done all that we can do
Just know that we tried our best
But nothing compares to you
