I miss our talks over the phone that went on for hours.   We talked about our experiences at work,  when I  lived in New York,  our needle work which we had in common.   I still miss her and think about her often,  especially when something funny happens to me  that I wish I could share with her.   Forever in my heart ♥,  Miriam
Sandra and I would go out for lunch everyday,  when we got paid that would be an extra special lunch.   We enjoyed food and working in Manhattan we had our choice of any type of cuisine we were in the mood for.   She was not only my coworker but a dear friend.   When I moved to Colorado,  that didn't stop us keeping in touch.   When we talked on the phone and we talked for hours at a time,  literally hours.   I miss her dearly and  think of her often.   May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
I learned that there are true friends, if you are lucky enough to find even one. I was lucky, we shared our sadness and happiness. We respected each other's space and privacy without feeling left out. We shared family losses and consoled each other in our grief. She was one in a million and I will miss her dearly! Rest in peace, love you like the sister I never had 💐.

I am so heart broken over this news. My condolences to the family. I worked with Sandra at Roosevelt Hospital for many years till my move out of State. We spoke on the phone often. She last called me early October, the message was very brief, her voice was very hoarse so I couldn't understand what was said. Since then I called, left her messages and texts. My dearest friend may you rest in peace, you are in my heart forever.

Golden Girls gathering at Radio City Music hall
My fondest memories of Sandra include cousin Sonia and my mother Helen. She called us the “Golden Girls”. The Golden Girls gatherings took place in NYC and started when I was a teenager. We had so much fun it became a tradition that would last throughout my twenties. We would meet in front of Macy’s Herald Square to enjoy the Christmas window displays, then wander through the city to shop or attend a show at Radio City Music Hall. Eventually we would stop at a restaurant and laugh about things that happened along the way. Sandra always took the time to enjoy the little things others would often rush past like a small tchotchke at a corner vendor or a decoration hanging in a nearby store window. These Golden Girls trips with Sandra instilled in me a love for NYC I developed then and still have today. They would also influence my decision to attend college and eventually work there. Now when I admire the little things on my walk to work, I realize that the things I enjoy the most are the same things I enjoyed with the Golden Girls years ago. Although my experiences with Sandra were a small part of her life they turned out to be a big part of mine. I will miss her dearly, but when I think of her, I will think of bright city lights, fun and laughter. May she Rest In Peace and continue to enjoy all the little things in Heaven that she once enjoyed here.
Love Always,
Cousin Karen
Condolences to all who loved Sandra. My Cousin Sandra was an outgoing woman that enjoyed all the amenities of city living & talking to people she met along the way. I will miss my NYC day trips to meet her & our ensuing good times. She was a warrior as well who would never allow anyone to demean or cross her without paying the price. In her younger years a man on the subway platform grabbed her purse & Sandra raced after him & leaped on his back as he ran downstairs. Though he flung her off, she continued after him through corridors, up stairs & into the street yelling for help. Two good men grabbed the crook & held him. Sandra snatched her purse back, beat him with it until the men released him. Thereafter, she joined her friend for a concert. She could be invincible, but then age & illness caught up to her & she slowed down. Although she often shared she would be better off moving near her beloved Sister Miriam, Sandra's roots in the city she loved were too deep to tear her away. Sandra, I know you now have a new place to enjoy--Heaven with God--and you are talking to all you meet there as well. Enjoy Dear Cousin, I will miss you until we meet again. Love, Cousin Helen
