Sandra's obituary
In loving memory of Sandra Arreola, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who was unexpectedly taken from us far too soon. She leaves behind a legacy of love to those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Sandra was born in Santa Monica on August 16, 1980, and she was quickly followed into the world by her twin brother, Oscar. She was a lifelong and proud Angeleno. Sandra loved Wonder Woman, the color red, music, the beach, Disneyland, comedy clubs, theatre and cooking for those she loved. She was full of energy and lit up the room with her beautiful smile. Her hearty laugh was irresistible, and she had a special place for any child she met, and they for her. She was a hard worker, having started out in the service industry as a teen, and then moving on to become a valued office manager for various employers.
Sandra regarded being a mother as her greatest achievement. As a single mom, she embraced the immense responsibility of raising her precious daughter, and no matter how old Monica got, she was always Sandra’s “baby.” No matter what hardships life threw her way, she always fought to shelter Monica from the storms that came their way. Her life was not always easy, but she remained our Wonder Woman until the very end.
Sandra was predeceased by her grandparents and the father of her daughter, Ozzie Arreola. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Monica Arreola, her mother, Gloria Mendez, her brothers Luna (Kelly), Edward, Oscar (Cindy) and David, cousin Walter, Tias Cardidad and Roxana, Uncle Julio and her beloved dog Sam. In addition, she brightened the lives of a number of special friends, including Rudy, Bernadette, Jesse, Silvia, Jenn, Glenda, Meeka and Liz. Thank you all for always being there for our girl.
Sandra’s family would like to remind those who may be suffering in abusive relationships that help is available to you through the National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-7233. You are not alone. Please reach out.
