Samuel's obituary
Samuel Philip Sandor Jr., 76, of Spring Hill, FL passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 13th, 2023, while listening to his favorite song. He was born March 29th, 1947, to Catherine Sandor (Campbell) and Samuel Sandor Sr in Norristown PA.
He grew up in Bridgeport Pennsylvania, attending school locally and eventually working as a truck driver. He married Eileen Cook, and they celebrated their 53rd anniversary this month.
He was a lifelong fan of all things cars, trucks, mechanics, and racing. He was known for always wanting to take a drive, as anywhere was “just down the road” and was perpetually in search of a good Italian restaurant. He is also a survivor of colon cancer for the last 20+ years, which claimed the lives of many dear family members before him.
He is survived in this life by his wife Eileen, and daughters Shaun (Adam Pacetti), and Heather. He was adored by his surviving five grandchildren Caylynne (Mike Mankafas), Luke, Samantha, Olivia, and Noelle, as well as his two great-grandchildren Mia and Julian. He is preceded in death by his father Samuel P. Sandor Sr. and his mother Catherine J. Sandor. He also leaves behind his siblings Kathleen Wynn, Ronnie Sandor, and Anthony Sandor with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends including Frannie Kontra and many others.
Sam believed in living life to the fullest each day and did not wish to have services for his family to spend time in mourning. However, he did always joke that if a funeral was had anyway, Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” be played. We ask that you remember him as the hard-working, always smiling, and special man he was, over a dish of Chicken Parmesan, followed by cake (he always saved room for dessert!) and raise a glass to a life well lived (he would recommend crown on the rocks), and remember that he like Frank, did it his way.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you find your own way to remember him and raise awareness, for him and other victims of medical negligence that caused so much pain and suffering over the last five years, especially those that like himself, never saw justice.
