Sam taught me how to be a good parent and a better friend. He taught me that real love exists and really does last a lifetime. Sam taught me there are men willing to step up and be there for their children. He was a dedicated father from day one. He came in to Max's life as Sam but it wasn't long before he was Dad. Then we had Jonah and then June. He never left their side and never treated any of them differently. He left me with me with what he cherished the most, our children. In death he has taught me that I better get off my ass and step up. There will never be anyone that compares to Sam.

People keep telling me not to worry because I will find the love of my life. Someone that will love me forever, unconditionally. Truth is, I already found that person a long time ago. I am so fortunate and thankful to have experienced real love. Sam was the most genuine, loving man and the best father. He never did anything to hurt me. I don't even think he ever even lied to me. We just weren't meant to cohabitate. He was an organized, pissy Italian and I am a messy, spoiled white girl. We only proved and furthered our love for each other by separating. There will never be another Sam. No one has or will ever compare to him. I'm okay with that. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and proving to me that love can last forever. We miss you so very much.
