Samuel's obituary

Samuel Elwood Leasure entered the Church Triumphant on November 3, 2023 holding the hand of his beloved bride of 2 1/2 years, Carol McClard Leasure.

Sam of Piedmont, SC, was born on December 25, 1941 in Wiley Ford, WV. He is survived by his three sons:  Kenneth of Simpsonville, SC; Brian of Leesville, SC; Michael of Loveland, CO; his brother Russell (Maxine) of North Augusta, GA, and sister in law, Betty of Edgewood, MD.

Sam was married to Patt Cirzan of Illinois for 54 years before her passing in 2019. Also, predeceased by brother Bill (survived Betty), and sisters Alma Miller, Loretta Kline, Dorothy Lease, and Anna Leasure.  

After his military service in the Air Force, Sam worked for Aeronautical Radio Communications, Illinois in the Airline Industry for 27 years, then moved to Piedmont, SC and worked 14 years at Pilcher Hamilton, Greer, SC.

After his wife died, he accepted an invitation from his neighbor to attend Christ Community Church, PCA, Simpsonville, SC and loved his Men’s Bible Study as well as every other church activity. Sam was an avid sportsman and big game hunter. Sam met Carol at a church activity which blossomed into their marriage on July 24, 2021.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Veteran’s Day, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00am at Christ Community Church, 700 Harrison Bridge Road, Simpsonville, SC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Community Church, P.O. Box 80787, Simpsonville, SC 29680 or Calvary Home for Children, 110 Calvary Home Way, Anderson, SC 29621.
