Samuel's obituary

Samuel John Domenico of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away on August 29, 2019 at 74 years of age. Sam was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 25, 1945, the eldest son of the late Sam and Elizabeth Domenico.

Throughout his life Sam has had various types of cancer on many separate occasions and fought against them all. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive Mucosal Melanoma of the Sinus Cavity, which he lost the battle against. His life was full and rich. He saw good in everyone and everything. He had many friends, relatives and loved ones that will be stronger and better people for knowing him.

Sam was always a man of tremendous drive, whether it be his entrepreneurship, or love of traveling, he lived every day to the fullest. Throughout his life he started & ran many businesses, until he eventually co-founded Betelgeuse Productions, a video production and editing company. As busy as Sam was, he never forgot his family values and was always willing and able to assist with the family Christmas Tree lot each year.

In 1980 Sam found his happy place in Ocean Beach, New York. This was the perfect escape from his busy life in NYC. As a young adult he was able to enjoy the night life with lifelong friends, as well as the beach and expanding his family later in life. In 1990 Sam met his wife Diane and they had a son Jason in 1992. Fire Island became the family’s home away from home as it remains to this day. As Sam became more embedded into the community, he ultimately joined the volunteer Fire Department as an EMT and The Community Fund to leave his mark and embark on his journey to help others.

Sam leaves behind his wife Diane, son Jason, his brothers Tom & John, his sister Karen and friend Terry along with many other family members and friends who are considered family. He will not be forgotten.

The Family of Sam Domenico requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society to help further fund research and save more lives.
