My mom was very generous. She cooked meals for neighbors who were sick and without family to see them for the holidays. She always crocheted blankets for people. She would put others before herself. She would face her failing health holding her head high. She would still make sure that her family was well fed and taken care of, no matter how she was feeling. One Thanksgiving, she made a big Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless in town and freely saw to it that they got to enjoy her amazing cooking and a warm Thanksgiving meal. She loved animals. Her surviving companion, Dixie, was a small puppy that was sick. My mom adopted her and brought her back to health. May my mom's legacy of courage and devotion live on in her surviving family and friends. I love you, mom and I am so very proud of you.
