Sally's obituary
A beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and a loyal friend. She is survived by her loving family; her son Thane Takahashi, daughters Sharon Takahashi and June Ferreri, along with her cherished grandchildren Shauna Sturgess, Tyler Takahashi, and Tony Ferreri. Her memory lives on in the hearts of those she left behind.
A celebration of Sally's life will take place on November 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM/noon at Canton Village restaurant in Livermore, CA. Her friends, family, and the wider community she touched are invited to join us as we pay tribute to her enduring spirit and zest for life.
Sally was an active participant in the community as an attendee at several community clubs, namely The Elks Lodge, and The Livermore Shriners Club. Later in life she was also a member of the Vineyard Vixens chapter of the Red Hat Society with her 2 daughters. She also held a spiritual connection as a Buddhist.
Known for her expansive palate, Sally enjoyed an array of food, with a special love for sushi, manju, maguro tuna sashimi, hamburgers, and sweets. She also loved an ice-cold Coca Cola. Sally's love for mystery was reflected in her favorite TV show, 'Murder She Wrote', and she derived pleasure in playing the game of Bridge and enjoyed hosting these games with her friends. Dancing, and socializing, were her favorite recreational activities and modes of exercise.
Sally cherished vacationing in Hawaii, travel, and frequented local spots like Hanabishi, Canton Village, and McDonalds.
Her commitment to helping her family was unparalleled and strongly influenced her actions. Sally was a loyal, outgoing individual, known affectionately as a 'social butterfly'. With her self-made, approach to life, and notable care and concern for her family, Sally was a guiding light for those around her and she did not even know it. She was the youngest of 4 girls and was married at the age of 17. She self-taught herself how to be the best possible homemaker; cooking, cleaning, sewing, & raising 3 children. She was able to sew entire dresses and baked the most delicious pies and deserts. Sally survived The Great Depression, as well as World War II, in which her husband was a highly decorated veteran, earning a Bronze Star with Valor & 2 Purple Hearts.
She advocated the importance of financial stability for the family, and the value of saving money – lessons that resonate with her family today, shaping her lasting legacy.
Sally lived a fulfilling life and will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
