Sally's obituary
She leaves behind two sons, Chuck & Tom, that she doted upon and deeply loved.
Also among the bereaved is Chuck's wife, Barbara & 3 grandsons, Luke, (wife, Julia), John & Matthew.
In addition to these, Sally had 2 beloved nephews, Dan Baird (wife, Laurie) of Nashville & Tom Gutzke of Atlanta. Their mother, Jane Baird, Sally's only sibling, sadly predeceased her, in 2019.
Sally was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt & mother in law. She was a beautiful, generous, creative & deeply loving soul. Our Christmas Eve celebrations will never be the same without her.
Sally obtained a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia in Athens. Upon graduation, before marrying Carl Prescott, the father of her sons, she worked briefly in the radio industry & as a print model. Sally was also a published poet writing hundreds of beautiful poems. These also included tributes for various people over the years. Some of these poems may be found in the archives of President Ronald Reagan and other congressional leaders. She had a fantastic imagination, an ever hopeful, positive & happy outlook. She was self educated & highly knowledgeable on antiques & artwork of all sorts. She enjoyed spending some of her time hunting down treasures at auctions and yard sales. She also loved the pursuit of promising, fledgling companies, researching them online, investing in penny stocks. Much of her writings & research was done with a dog in her lap while typing on her notebook computer.
Sally's joyful & infectious laugh will be missed in this world, but we are looking forward to being reunited with her one day in our eternal home, with our Lord Jesus Christ.
