It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sally Payne (Cornelius), a woman of radiant spirit and unyielding strength, on June 30, 2024. Born on June 25, 1961, Sally instilled in us a sense of warmth and joy that imprinted our lives greatly and left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and perseverance. She will be remembered most for the love she had for family and Jesus, and for that twinkle in her eye and grin that made it look like she always was up to something.

Sally leaves behind her beloved children, Jennifer Payne (Thom), Tyler Salters (Paige), Amanda Holskey and Sierra Ash, and the lights of her life, her grandchildren Lucas Payne, Nevaeh Salters, Traiten Williams, Keagan Salters, Levi Blair, Delilah Holskey and Hendrix Martin. She is also survived by one brother, Alan (Tamara) Cornelius and one sister Carol (Tim) Broadwater, who will miss her deeply.

Sally was predeceased by her loving parents, Paul and Lois Cornelius, her sister Linda Mansfield, and her cherished granddaughter Mahayla Holskey. Each of them had profound influences on her life, and she will undoubtedly be greeted with their embraces in their heavenly reunion.

Sally, known fondly for her bubbly personality and beautiful smile, had a zest for life that was contagious. She taught us all to cherish the relationships in our lives, exemplifying this through her genuine love for her family. The lessons she imparted, particularly the importance of family, will carry on through her loved ones.

She dedicated over 20 years of her life to Head Start, where her commitment and work ethic were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her influence in the community was significant, and she will be greatly missed.

We mourn the loss of Miss Sally today, but we also celebrate her vibrant life, her devoted love, and her enduring influence. Rest in peace, dear Sally. The memories you’ve left behind will forever be etched in our hearts.
