We were so sorry to hear of Sally's passing.

She was so kind and friendly to us over our twenty year history as her service provider for lawn care.

She was always outgoing, positive, & thinking of others.

It is September 1958.  The new freshman class has arrived at Eastern Baptist College (now Eastern University).  The center of attention was a tall, blond new student, nicknamed the "Greek God" (aka Jesse Milby). Sally Lynn, a  tall, wonderful Junior, noticed.   Fast forward to Sadie Hawkins Day in 1959.  Jess is  way out on a limb of a large tree - and right behind him is Sally.   One of those "she chased him until he caught her"  Sorry the yearbook pictures do not do the situation justice.

Two of the things I learned from my friend are

 1.  always wear good shoes when riding a bicycle

2.  how to eat fresh (cooked of course) shrimp - just dump it on the table with dipping sauce.  A tradition that remains in my family because of sitting around the Lynn table in Maryland!

Sally and I first met when during our husbands graduate school days at U. of A.  I was just 24 and Sally 26.  It didn't take long for us to form an everlasting friendship.  Sally was more than just a friend....she was family.  She had an exceptional ability to anticipate the needs of those she cared about and her kindness knew no bounds.  She had a heart that poured out love to everyone she encountered. Sally and Jess and my husband David & I  shared a lifetime of trips and memories together, (many times with our entire family.)  Beach trips...the World's Fair...Nova Scotia....Cruises....Alaska.... New England.... annual trips to Gatlinburg each fall for 40+ years....yearly trips to each other's home ... plus countless others.  What an amazing journey with these two.... 59 years of friendship, that's a long long time!

I thank Sally for being the incredible friend that she was.  She will be greatly missed, but I find comfort in knowing that our paths will cross again one day.  Lastly, I think of the 'joy' that Sally and I would have missed had we never met.  It is then that I smile!
