In lieu of flowers

Please consider a contribution to National Kidney Foundation.

Background

My mom, Sallie Crosley, fought a difficult battle with kidney disease. The complications of this disease contributed to her untimely death on August 23rd, 2021. I've created this fundraiser to honor her struggle and her memory.

The journey for someone diagnosed with kidney disease is long and difficult. NKF’s work helps make the journey a little easier those living with kidney disease, as well as those who care for and about them.

Over the past two decades, the face of kidney disease has been rapidly evolving. Landmark developments in nephrology have created new approaches to treatment, and groundbreaking information regarding prevention has altered the world’s understanding of the disease. NKF is leading the way in fighting this disease, leveraging their knowledge and experience to focus on building awareness, increasing prevention, and improving treatment of kidney disease.

Your donation will honor my mom's memory and spread hope for the future. It will also help raise vital awareness to people at risk for kidney disease, so they do not have to go through what my mom did.

Every donation is meaningful to me and my father, Nelson. We would be grateful for your support to help fight kidney disease.

Thank you!

  • What is the history of your organization?

On November 15, 1950, Ada DeBold, and her husband Harry, called the first meeting of the Committee for Nephrosis Research in a desperate attempt to save their child. Several months earlier, the couple's infant son was stricken with nephrosis, a little-known condition that had no real treatment. DeBold was determined to take positive action as she confronted the challenge of parenting a child with an incurable disease and due to her fortitude, the National Nephrosis Foundation (NNF) was born. The NNF was the inaugural lay group that ultimately became the National Kidney Foundation in 1964.
