Saige's obituary

Saige Nicole Lee Anthony

A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Saige Nicole Lee Anthony unexpectedly left this world to join our Lord and savior, at 19, on Sept. 20, 2022, of a major heart attack and complications due a pre-existing heart condition. Born in Martinsville, Va. on Jan. 26, 2003. She attended Sunday Service and was proud to be Baptized along side her mother at Orchard Drive Baptist Church, on Dec. 2nd, 2018.

Saige was a lover of the arts and loved painting.  She enjoyed dancing, listening to music and was occasionally known to rap a few verses. She shared a love of Mickey & Minnie Mouse and all things Disney with her mother. She was funny, outgoing and vivacious, with a quick wit and had no problem speaking her mind.

She loved butterflies, a symbol of life, rebirth, beauty and grace and a reminder that an end to one phase of life is merely the beginning of the next.

She was fiercely loyal to her friends and family. We will always remember her infectious smile, piercing blue eyes and fun-loving personality. Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed.

When you think of Saige, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest, as she did.

Saige was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Judy & Steve Hite, Jimmy Mayhew, James & Betty Anthony, Bill & Alberta Casterline, and grandparents, Steven Stultz and James Anthony.

She leaves behind her parents, Kristie Mayhew Blackard, Matthew Anthony & stepmother Amanda Anthony; siblings Caleb & Austin Anthony, Dacoyta Gillespie, Lauryn Blackard, Karolee Whitlow, James Dean & Caidence Hancock and Patience Dillon; grandparents Jerry & Julie Mayhew, Teresa Hite Stultz, and Frances Anthony; and great grandmother Alice Mayhew; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held soon for family & friends; details will be shared here as they become available
