Background
In memory of Said, we will provide mutual aid funds to Root Cause Farm (a nonprofit organization in Fairview, North Carolina that brings people together to grow and share healthy, local food) and Gaza Soup Kitchen (a grassroots Palestine NGO feeding thousands daily in Gaza).
Said cared deeply about community involvement and activism, and about making the world a better place. He often turned small social gatherings into small fundraisers. In honor of how he lived his life, we are collecting funds to distribute to Root Cause Farm, an org local to his home in Fairview that Said volunteered and worked with for many years, as well as to Gaza Soup Kitchen, an org distributing much needed aid on the ground in Gaza, and which Said has helped raise money for in the past. There will be completely optional opportunities to contribute to these causes at the Celebration of Life event, as well as a link on this site.
Donations to help hold the memorial event are also appreciated.
