As the heart of our family, our mother Sai Lee Vang was a beacon of strength, love, and generosity. Her life was a tapestry woven with threads of compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and heritage. As we prepare to say our final goodbyes, we are committed to honoring her memory in a way that reflects the profound impact she had on all of us.
The Hmong funeral tradition is a deeply significant and sacred event, spanning four days and welcoming family and guests from all over the US. It is a time for family, friends, and community members to come together to pay their respects, to grieve together as a family and community, and to celebrate the life of a beloved individual. This tradition involves meticulous planning, special decor that honors cultural requirements, and the provision of food and beverages around the clock to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and cared for.
Given the scale and importance of this event, the costs are substantial. Our family is prepared to support the costs as needed in order to provide the funeral services, and any gifts will help ease the burden on the family and are deeply appreciated. From the intricate funeral arrangements and rituals that pay homage to our heritage to the continuous supply of food and beverages for our guests, every detail is thoughtfully considered to create a meaningful and respectful farewell.
To support this endeavor, we have established the Sai Vang Memorial Fund. This fund will help cover the expenses associated with the funeral, ensuring that we can honor our mother Sai Vang in the way she deserves.
Contributions to the fund will go towards:
• Cultural Décor and Environment: Creating a beautiful and respectful environment that reflects our traditions, allows for guests and family to properly pay their respect, and most importantly, the deep love that Sai had for her heritage.
• Food and Beverages: Provide supplies to process, store, cook, and serve specific Hmong meals and refreshments for all guests throughout the four-day event, fostering a sense of family, community, love and togetherness.
• Funeral Services: Covering the costs of the funeral arrangements, including the venue, transportation, headstone, and other essential services.
Your support will allow us to celebrate Sai's life with the dignity and respect she deserves, while also easing the financial burden on our family during this difficult time. We are deeply grateful for any contributions and for the love and support of our community.
