Sabrina's obituary

On April 7, 2025, Heaven welcomed our beloved Sabrina Godinho Batista, a devoted daughter, loving mother and wife, dear friend, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. Sabrina passed away at the age of 41, leaving behind a legacy of faith, courage, and love. Though her time on earth was brief, her impact was eternal.

Sabrina was born on December 29, 1983, in Santos, São Paulo. As a teenager, she moved to the United States. A brilliant young woman, she embraced the teachings of her family, which were based on the attributes of our Savior Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was always her most precious treasure.

Sabrina graduated in Marketing from Brigham Young University and made friends wherever she went. Known for her remarkable personality, love, kindness, dedication, and faith, she served in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dedicating herself primarily to the children in Primary and impacting many young women in the Young Women organization.

Sabrina excelled in all roles in her life: daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, granddaughter, professional, and friend. Married to Augusto Batista since 2005, she built a beautiful family and showed unparalleled love for her husband and three children. She always supported her children in dance competitions and school performances, proudly sharing family photos with friends and relatives.

For over a decade, her distinctive voice brought life to many uplifting materials for members of her faith in Portuguese. Her voice was heard in thousands of Church media projects, including articles, broadcasts, podcasts, and live events. In addition to interpreting, she also provided language coaching, translation, production, subtitling, and linguistic support for various Church projects and private studios.

Despite facing challenges, Sabrina maintained her faith and commitment to serve, demonstrating self-determination, hard work, and a happy life as a faithful disciple of Christ.

Before passing, Sabrina expressed her wish for her children, husband, family, and friends to remain happy and faithful. Her greatest desire was for everyone to continue focusing on following the Savior Jesus Christ. Sabrina fought bravely to stay with her husband and children but knew that the true miracle lies in Heavenly Father's plan, where the bonds created in this earthly life are eternal and families are forever. Her faith surpasses our understanding, trusting that Heavenly Father will care for and comfort those who remain.

The family deeply appreciates the doctors, nurses, and everyone who helped Sabrina in the last two years. The support of the saints was a testament to God's mercies and divine love.

Sabrina leaves behind her husband Augusto, three children, parents, eight siblings, and many relatives and friends. Her loss is felt by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire. We know she is now in the arms of the Savior, and we look forward to the day we will be reunited with her. Until then, her love and legacy will resonate in our hearts.
