It is with the heaviest of hearts to announce the sudden passing of Ryan William O'Dowd, following a brief illness. Ryan was born on July 28, 1989 in Framingham, Massachusetts, to the late David W. O'Dowd and Maureen S. Quinn O'Dowd. He grew up in Uxbridge, Ma. and graduated from Uxbridge High in 2007. He worked at Whole Foods Market in Bellingham, MA for the last 10 years, both in the Seafood and Prepared Foods departments. Ryan was the biggest flirt and had an uncanny ability to make an entire room bust out in belly laughs; whether he be doing spot on impressions or cracking witty jokes. Ryan was a free-spirit, with an ingenious approach towards both his artwork and perspective on life. He was truly the kindest of souls; a devoted young man to his friends and family, especially his Momma. He would take the shirt off his back or simply be a shoulder to cry on, for anyone in need. Ryan was always great company, he also had the ability to make friends wherever he went. The simplest pleasures in life brought the most joy to Ryan; good times with his loved ones, listening to music, playing guitar, drawing or reading, playing video games or relaxing at home; snuggled up with his beloved cat Chubbs. Ryan will forever be remembered as the true gentleman he always was. A genuine, warm hearted,  handsome, intelligent, funny, animal-loving, dedicated Deadhead, that anyone who knew him could concur. Referred to "O'Dowd" by his buddies, Ryan will also be remembered as a wise-guy and loyal friend, with the sincerest of hearts. Ryan leaves behind an older brother, Joshua M. O'Dowd and his wife Molly J. Cox O'Dowd of Uxbridge, MA.; and two younger sisters, Shawna M. O'Dowd of Uxbridge, MA and Alanna J. O'Dowd of Bridgton, ME. Ryan is preceded in death by his father, David W. O'Dowd in 2002, and his mother, Maureen S. Quinn O'Dowd in 2022. The untimely passing of Ryan nearly 9 months after his mother is a heart-breaking, devastating loss to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, but especially to Ryans siblings; who only find comfort in knowing he is at peace with his Mom and Dad again. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Polish Hall in Uxbridge, MA from 12-4pm.
