Ryan's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Ryan Dee Holley. He was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Christ on October 25, 2025, at his home in Austin Texas. Ryan rededicated his life to Christ on September 14 of this year. Ryan was born on November 9, 1980, in Plainview, Texas to Darrell and Nanette Holley. He grew up being a member of FUMC. He graduated from Plainview High school in 1999 and went on to attend Texas Tech University.
Ryan loved music. He loved writing it and loved performing. For many years, he traveled throughout the country sharing his talent.
Ryan eventually settled in Austin, working in the software industry. In 2016 he changed careers and established Holley Home and Landscaping where he worked side by side with his brother, Kody, for several years. This allowed Ryan to use his creative talents in a totally different way, and it allowed him the freedom to spend more time with his children. If you knew Ryan, you know he adored his children, Tristan (9) and Lochlan (3). He was the fun dad. He planned tent sleepovers, movie nights, and creative games they could play together. He always went to the extreme in outdoor decorating for any holiday, just for their entertainment. His home was “that” house on the block. He also loved to cook and share many traditional dishes passed down from family members.
Ryan loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer at a very young age and played on the Plainview high school golf team. He got his love of fishing from his grandparents who took him to Conchas Lake in New Mexico as often as possible. He settled in Austin mainly because of the easy access to so many lakes and golf courses.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sherwood and Grace Holley, maternal grandparents CB Cline, Jr. and Margie Cline, all longtime residents of Plainview, and his precious fur baby, Shiloh. Survivors include his wife, Meredith, daughter Tristan Grace, son Lochlan Jacob, parents Darrell and Nanette Holley, brother Kody Holley and wife, Megan, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a scholarship fund for his children Tristan (9) and Lochlan (3) via EverLoved, or to a charity of your choice. His life will be celebrated with a memorial service at a later date.
