Ruth was first employed from 1951 to 1981, by the former Wenton Shoe Factory, Kutztown, then as a custodian by the Kutztown Area School District, working in the Junior High School building for 16 years, from 1981 until her retirement in 1997. Ruth enjoyed staying at home listening to the music station on TV. She also enjoyed shopping for clothing and jewelry.

Ruth is survived by her three Godchildren, Dorothy A. Mengel, Mertztown, Kevin Ely, and Susan (Mengel), wife of Tony Boltz, Kutztown; Lloyd's children, Keith A., husband of Sherry (Courter) Conrad, Hellertown, Bonnie L. (Conrad), wife of Chester Schappell, Jr., Kutztown, Luther E. Conrad, Topton, and Leon C. Conrad, companion of Jodi Stahler, Mertztown; Lloyd's grandchildren, Kayla R. Conrad, Collin L. Conrad, Chyanne Koch and Jordan Conrad; and Lloyd's great-grandchildren, Dawson Reppert, Grayson Koch, Alaina Oswald, McKinley Conrad and Sawyer Conrad. And many nieces and nephews (Albright, Combs, Stone) 

Pallbearers: Collin L. Conrad, Jordan Conrad, Toby Albright, Johnny Combs, Easton Comba, Evan Stone and Jack Stone. 

Honorary Pallbearers: Joseph Conrad, Jacob Bellview and Holbrook Watson.
