Ruth's obituary

Ruth Louise Schwartzkopf, born November 27, 1943, in Buffalo, New York, passed away peacefully in Miami, Florida, under the care of Accent Hospice December 15, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Martin G. Petrie and Leah Ackerman Petrie.

Ruth’s life was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, which guided her through 81 years of love and devotion to her family and community. Her unwavering spirit and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Faith (Eddie) Brennan, Tami (Randy) Nimer, and James (Courtney) Schwartzkopf. Ruth was also a proud grandmother to three grandchildren: Ashley, Matthew, and Michael, who brought immense joy to her life.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Accent Hospice team at North Shore Medical Center in Miami for their compassionate care during Ruth’s final days. They also wish to thank Bishop Fernando Isern for his prayers, friendship, and steadfast support.

Interment will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Miami. Arrangements are currently pending.

May Ruth’s enduring faith and loving memory serve as a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were blessed to know her.
