It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Ruth Sampsel Howey, 72, of Green Springs OH. Ruth was a cherished mother, mentor and friend. Mrs. Sampsel Howey was born on August 12, 1950 in Sarasota FL and lost her short fight with Breast Cancer July 11, 2023 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky OH. 

Ruth was a beacon of kindness, passion, and love. Throughout her life, she deeply touched the hearts of those she interacted with. Her lessons on seeking forgiveness were a testament to her humble nature and immense wisdom.

One of her most notable achievements was becoming a registered nurse, a career she pursued with unwavering dedication and compassion. Her legacy, however, stretches beyond her professional accomplishments. Her true passions were serving the church and being a grandmother. Her legacy will forever live on through her grandchildren and her spirit will forever rest in the church.  

Ruth is fondly remembered and greatly missed by her daughters, Michelle Posey and Samatha Alley. Her son Jayson Howey,  her many grandchildren and so many of those who's hearts she's touched throughout her life. She will be joining her loving husband, Jack Howey, her parents, Jacob and Evelyn Sampsel, her son, Brian Howey and her siblings, Barry, Vickey, and Carrol in Heaven. 

A wake is being held for immediate family and close family friends only on Thursday July 13th. Upon Ruth's final wishes a Casting Ceremony will be held on Sunday July 16th in Ruth's home town Sarasota Fl.

In honor of her memory, let us continue to spread the kindness and warmth that Mrs. Sampsel Howey embodied. Her spirit remains with us, in the lessons she taught, the values she instilled, and the love she shared.
